About
Hello! My name is Clifford Gama, and this is a blog where I explore and reflect on human stories. To reflect on stories is to reflect on life, since life begets stories and stories give meaning to life.
The subtitle, “tracing the footprints on the sands of time,” comes from Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s A Psalm of Life. For me, those footprints are the stories and works left behind by others. In that spirit, my interest in stories begins in wonder — I enjoy the travel through time, space, and selfhood that they offer. It is also creative, as I seek to understand stories and to write my own. Finally, it is moral and philosophical, because I am drawn to questions about meaning.
I move through them in that order, following questions wherever they lead.
